Truck Accidents in Texas

Any type of truck accident has the potential to cause severe injuries and damage to the people and vehicles involved. Unfortunately, there are thousands of people harmed as a result of truck crashes in Texas every year. One of the most common types of truck accidents that we see in our state is the jackknife collision. This type of accident occurs when the trailer on the truck swings across the road and comes to rest parallel to the cab.

There are several reasons why jackknife truck accidents occur with greater frequency than other types of truck accidents. One reason is that jackknife accidents are more likely to occur when a truck is carrying a heavy load. This is because the weight of the load can cause the truck to lose traction, making it more difficult for the driver to control the vehicle.

Another reason why jackknife accidents take place more often is due to the fact that trucks need a lot of space to turn. This means that if a truck driver begins to turn too sharply, the trailer of the truck can swing out and hit another vehicle, causing a jackknife accident.

In addition, road conditions can also play a role in causing jackknife accidents. If the road is slippery or has sharp turns, it can be more difficult for a truck driver to maintain control of their vehicle, leading to a jackknife accident.
