Houston, TX – Multi-Vehicle Truck Crash on I-45 near TX-249 Ends in Injuries
Houston, TX (January 10, 2023) – Emergency officials out of Houston were called to the scene of a major chain reaction collision that took place early Monday afternoon. Just before 1:20 p.m., January 9, the Houston fire Department and police responded to the site of a traffic crash on Interstate 45.
According to authorities, a collision between three vehicles took place on the north side of Interstate 45 near Texas State Highway 249. After the initial collision, a second collision involving nine vehicles occurred in the same location.
An SUV flipped over as a result of the accident. A minivan was significant damage was located on the road. Additionally, crews located a damaged 18-wheeler and an RV in the roadway. At least five people suffered injuries in the crash and were transported to area hospitals.
The incident remains under investigation by the police in Houston at this time.
