Fatal Truck Accidents in Texas

Commercial vehicle wrecks take the lives of hundreds of people in Texas each year. Unfortunately, there are many cases where innocent people die due to reckless and negligent actions. If you lost a loved one as a result of a fatal truck accident, you might be able to file a lawsuit against the responsible party. In Texas, there are several people who can be held liable for fatal truck accidents.

If the truck driver was at fault, you might be able to file legal action against the driver or the trucking company. If the accident was caused by a defective truck or part, you might be able to sue the manufacturer. If the accident was caused by bad road conditions, you might be able to sue the government entity responsible for maintaining the road.

It is important that you speak with the Fort Worth wrongful death lawyer as soon as possible to determine who is liable for your damages and how to proceed with your case.

While no amount of money can replace your loved one, filing a wrongful death lawsuit can help you recover some much-needed financial compensation. Here are some of the damages you may be able to recover in a fatal truck accident lawsuit:

  • Loss of companionship and support: If your spouse or child died in a truck accident, you might be able to sue for the loss of their companionship and support. This includes the physical and emotional comfort they provided, as well as any financial support they contributed to the household.
  • Medical bills: If your loved one required medical treatment before passing away, you might be able to recover the cost of their medical bills in a wrongful death lawsuit. This includes hospitalization, surgery, medication, and any other related expenses.
  • Lost wages: If your loved one was employed at the time of their death, you might be able to sue for their lost wages. This includes the amount of money that they would have made had they been able to live the rest of their natural life.
