Freeport, TX –12-Year-Old Boy Killed, Man Injured in Crash with Train on FM 1495

Freeport, TX (December 29, 2022) – Authorities were called to the site of a traffic accident on Sunday evening that claimed the life of a young boy. At around 7:15 p.m. on December 25, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed at the scene of a traffic accident on Farm to Market Road 1495.

According to reports, a silver 2013 Ford Edge was traveling north of Farm to Market Road 1495. As the vehicle crossed over train tracks, it was struck by the train.

The impact of the crash left with vehicles severely damaged. A 12-year-old boy inside the Ford was partially ejected through the windshield. The driver became trapped inside.

Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the victim. The man and child were both airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. The boy was declared deceased after arriving. The man was admitted in critical condition.

The traffic accident remains under investigation.
