Texas Truck Crashes

Every year, truck crashes take place in Texas that take the lives of hundreds of people and leave thousands more with injuries. Unfortunately, many of these accidents are caused by negligence. When people are harmed in crashes due to the reckless and careless actions of other motorists, they are able to file personal injury lawsuits against them. A personal injury lawsuit helps victims recover financial compensation for some of the damages they face. Some of the most common damages awarded to victims include:

  • Medical expenses: If you have been seriously injured in a truck crash, you will likely incur substantial medical bills. You can seek to recover these costs in your lawsuit.
  • Lost wages: If you have had to miss work as a result of your injuries, you can seek to recover your lost wages in your lawsuit.
  • Pain and suffering: Most truck crash victims experience some degree of pain and suffering as a result of their injuries. This type of damage is typically awarded in addition to other economic damages such as medical expenses and lost wages.
  • Punitive damages: In some cases, the court may award punitive damages to punish the negligent driver for his or her recklessness.
