Fatal Truck Accidents in Texas

Fatal truck accidents are the cause of hundreds of deaths in Texas every year. Quite often, these accidents are a result of negligence. We see countless truck accidents take place as a result of speeding drivers, impairment, and even distractions.

As with any other vehicle on the road, trucks are subject to the rules of the road and are required to maintain a certain level of safety. When a truck driver is involved in a fatal accident, there are several parties who may be held liable. The truck driver, the maintenance company, the cargo company, and the trucking company all play a role in making sure that trucks are safe on the road.

The truck driver is responsible for operating the vehicle safely. This includes obeying traffic laws, maintaining a proper lookout, and keeping the truck in good working order. The maintenance company is responsible for keeping the truck in good repair. This means that they must regularly inspect the vehicle and make sure that it is safe to operate. The cargo company is responsible for ensuring that the load is properly secured and does not pose a danger to other vehicles on the road. The trucking company is responsible for hiring safe drivers and ensuring that their trucks are properly maintained.

If any of these parties fail to live up to their responsibilities, they may be held liable for a fatal accident. When innocent people die as a result of truck accidents, their families often have legal options that can help them seek financial compensation to cover the cost of funeral arrangements and more.
