Truck Accidents in Texas

Truck accidents tend to be some of the most severe types of collisions that take place in our state. Each year crashes involving semi-trucks take the lives of hundreds of people while leaving thousands more with significant injuries. Common injuries that are reported in truck crashes across our state include:

  • Spinal cord fractures that lead to paralysis.
  • Traumatic brain injuries that result in memory loss.
  • Internal organ damage that can be life-threatening.
  • Significant bone fractures that require surgery.

The truth is that matter vehicle accidents involving commercial vehicles are more likely to result in serious and life-threatening injuries for victims. This is especially true for those who are utilizing small passenger vehicles during crashes.

In many cases, people suffer severe injuries as a result of truck crashes caused by negligence. When it comes to truck accidents, drowsy driving is one of the leading factors that lead to collisions in our state. Drivers are often in a hurry to make it to their destination on time. As a result, they tend to spend long hours out on the road even when they are not supposed to. This can make it difficult for them to stay awake while behind the wheel.

Another common factor in truck accidents is speeding. Again, the rush to make it to the destination on time can make them engage in reckless actions. Trucks that are speeding take a significant time to stop. This can be incredibly dangerous when approaching congested areas or while traveling in inclement weather.
