Fatal Truck Accidents in Oklahoma

Every year, truck accidents take the lives of thousands of people across the United States. We see many fatal accidents take place right here in Oklahoma. The unfortunate truth is that a lot of these accidents are completely preventable. Year after year, innocent people die in truck crashes due to negligent drivers. Some of the leading factors in these fatal collisions include:

  • Speeding: Speeding is a major problem for all drivers, but it’s especially dangerous for truckers because of the size and weight of their vehicles. When trucks are involved in speeding accidents, they’re more likely to cause serious damage and injuries.
  • Distracted driving: Distracted driving is another dangerous behavior that can lead to serious accidents. Truckers are often guilty of this behavior because they spend long hours on the road and can get bored or tired easily. Texting, talking on the phone, eating, and even changing the radio are all distractions that can take a trucker’s attention away from the road and lead to an accident.
  • Fatigue: Fatigue is a common issue for truckers because of their long hours on the road. When drivers are tired, they’re more likely to make mistakes and have slower reflexes. This can lead to serious accidents if they’re not careful.
