Fatal Truck Accidents in Texas

Truck collisions are the cause of hundreds of deaths every year in Texas. Unfortunately, the majority of these accidents are preventable. Common factors in fatal truck accidents across our state include:

  • Drivers who are speeding.
  • Distracted driving.
  • Drivers who are intoxicated.
  • Fatigued and drowsy motorists.
  • Failing to yield.
  • Mechanical failure.

The party or parties responsible for a fatal truck accident can vary depending on the circumstances. In some cases, the driver of the truck may be held liable if it is found that they were driving recklessly or negligently. If the truck was improperly loaded or maintained, the company responsible for those duties may be held liable.

In other cases, liability may fall on the shoulders of the company who hired the trucking company, if it is found that they did not properly vet the company or ensure that their drivers were qualified. After losing a loved one in a fatal accident, your family may be able to pursue legal action against the liable party.
