Truck Crashes in Texas

Being involved in a truck crash can change your life forever. Unfortunately, thousands of truck accidents are reported in the state of Texas each year. Although any type of truck accident can have severe injuries, we see many people left with significant injuries as a result of rear-end collisions.

There are many common causes of rear-end truck accidents. One of the most common is following too closely. When a truck is following another vehicle too closely, there is not enough time to react if the vehicle in front braking suddenly. This can often result in a rear-end collision.

Other common causes of rear-end truck accidents include:

  • Distracted driving (texting, talking on the phone, etc.)
  • Fatigue
  • Speeding
  • Reckless driving (weaving in and out of lanes, tailgating, etc.)
  • Poor road conditions (potholes, debris, etc.)
  • Inclement weather

If you have been involved in a rear-end truck accident, you may be able to file a personal injury case against the responsible party. A Houston truck accident lawyer can help you investigate the accident and build a strong case to prove your damages.

It is important that you seek legal guidance right away. A thorough investigation will be needed to determine who is at fault for the accident. In general, the truck driver, the trucking company, the manufacturer of the truck parts, the maintenance company, or even the cargo company can be held accountable for an accident. It is important to investigate the details surrounding the accident to determine what parties you can take legal action against.
