Van Zandt County, TX (December 2, 2022) – A 57-year-old woman from Wills Points, Texas, has died as a result of a fatal truck accident that took place in Van Zandt County. On November 30, the Texas Department of Public Safety was dispatched to provide assistance at the scene of a truck accident that occurred on US Highway 80.

At around 8 p.m., 57-year-old Teresa Reyes was driving a 2014 Ford Focus east on US Highway 80. At the same time, a 2013 Freightliner truck tractor that was towing a trailer was traveling westbound on the roadway. As the vehicle attempted to turn left into a private drive, the two vehicles collided.

Reyes was severely injured in the crash. She was transported to a hospital in Canton by EMS. Authorities confirm that she passed away from her injuries later on.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is currently investigating this fatal truck accident.
