Bus Accidents in Texas

Bus accidents occur every day in the United States. Here in Texas, we see many bus accidents take place each year that result in significant injuries for victims. Due to the capacity of buses, these accidents often result in mass casualties. There are many cases where bus accidents are caused by negligence. As with any vehicle accident, there are a number of different parties who may be held liable for a bus accident.

The bus driver may be held liable if it is determined that they were operating the bus in a negligent or reckless manner. This could include speeding, making unsafe lane changes, or failing to yield the right of way. The bus company may also be held liable if it is determined that they failed to maintain the bus or screen their drivers for safety properly.

The owner of the bus may be held liable if it is determined that they knew or should have known about any mechanical defects with the vehicle and failed to fix them. They may also be held liable if they failed to insure the vehicle properly.

Any other party whose negligence contributed to the accident may also be held liable. This could include the manufacturer of defective parts used on the bus or a company that performed substandard repairs on the vehicle.
