Fatal Commercial Vehicle Accidents in Texas

Commercial vehicle crashes take the lives of more than 500 people each year in the state of Texas. There are many cases where innocent people die due to drivers who are negligent. Leading factors in fatal commercial vehicle accidents include:

  • Drivers who are impaired by drugs or alcohol.
  • Drivers who are under the influence of over-the-counter drugs.
  • Drivers who are fatigued after spending long hours on the road.
  • Drivers who run red lights or pass through stop signs.
  • Drivers who failed to yield to others.

Losing a loved one is always a tragedy, but it can be even more devastating when the death was caused by someone else’s negligence. If you’ve lost a loved one in a truck accident that was caused by another party’s recklessness or carelessness, you may be able to file a wrongful death claim against the responsible party.

To succeed when filing a wrongful death lawsuit, you will need to prove that the other party was at fault for the accident and that their negligence led to the death of your loved one. This can be quite difficult to do, considering the fact that insurance companies will do whatever they can to shift the blame for the accident.
