Fatal Truck Accidents in Texas

Fatal truck accidents in Texas take the lives of hundreds of people annually. There are many cases where innocent people lose their lives due to the reckless and careless actions of others. Some of the leading factors in fatal truck accidents across our state include:

  • Speeding: Driving too fast for road conditions is one of the leading causes of accidents, and this is especially true for trucks. Due to their size and weight, trucks require more time and distance to stop, so speeding can easily lead to a serious or fatal crash.
  • Driver fatigue: Truckers often work long hours and may be fatigued when behind the wheel. This can make them less alert and more likely to make mistakes.
  • Impaired driving: Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is never a good idea, but it can be especially dangerous when operating a large vehicle like a truck.
  • Distracted driving: Taking your eyes off the road, even for a few seconds, can be enough time for an accident to happen. Truckers may be distracted by things like their cell phones, radios, and food.
