Fatal Truck Accidents in Texas

In 2021, more than 4400 people died as a result of fatal accidents in the state of Texas. Hundreds of these people lost their lives as a result of accidents involving semi-trucks and commercial vehicles. We see many innocent people lose their lives in fatal truck accidents due to drivers who are negligent. Some of the most common factors in fatal truck accidents across our state include:

  • Driver Fatigue: driver fatigue is another leading cause of truck accidents. Truckers often have to drive long hours to make their delivery deadlines, and this can lead to them becoming exhausted behind the wheel. When tiredness sets in, it can be difficult for a driver to concentrate and make good decisions. This can easily lead to an accident.
  • Distracted Driving: distracted driving is also a major problem on our roads today. With so many people using cell phones and other electronic devices, drivers are more distracted than ever before. Unfortunately, when a truck driver takes their eyes off the road, even for a few seconds, it can result in a serious or fatal accident.
  • Weather Conditions: bad weather conditions can also contribute to truck accidents. If a trucker is driving in heavy rain or snow, visibility can be reduced significantly, making it more difficult to see other vehicles on the road. This can easily lead to an accident occurring.
