Corpus Christi, TX – 18-Wheeler Crash on TX-44 Takes Life of Daniel Chapa

Corpus Christi, TX (January 16, 2023) – One man has lost his life as a result of a truck crash that took place in Jim Wells County on Wednesday morning. At around 5:15 a.m., on January 11, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a two-vehicle truck crash that took place on Texas State Highway 44.

According to reports, a white Mack truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling on Texas State Highway 44 when the vehicle became involved in a rear-end crash with a white Honda Civic.

The driver of the Honda, 30-year-old Daniel Chapa, suffered fatal injuries he was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding DPS troopers.

At this time, the Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating to determine what led to the crash taking place.
