Luftkin, TX – Teen killed in Truck Wreck on Highway 103 near Crain Rd

Lufkin, TX (January 7, 2023) – A traffic accident was rewarded in the Lufkin area that claimed the life of one teenager. On January 4, the Texas Department of Public Safety was called to the scene of a traffic crash that occurred on Highway 103.

According to DPS, at approximately 8:45 p.m., a 2004 Kenworth truck tractor was traveling north along Crain Road when the driver, 37-year-old Terry Vaught, failed to yield to our pickup truck at the intersection of Highway 103.

As a result, the truck continued forward and collided with a 2009 Chevrolet pickup truck, which was driven by 20-year-old Konnor Taylor.

Taylor was injured as a result of the accident and transported to Woodland Heights Medical Center for medical care.

A passenger in the Chevrolet, a 15-year-old, suffered severe injuries. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers.

At this time, the Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.

We hope Konnor Taylor is able to recover quickly.

Our sympathies go out to the family of the victim who died in this truck accident.
