Truck Accidents in Texas

A truck accident can have a profound impact on your life. We see thousands of people hospitalized with significant injuries as a result of these crashes every year. Here in Texas, truck accidents even take the lives of hundreds of victims annually.

There are many instances where truck accidents are entirely preventable. Drivers who fail to operate their vehicles in a responsible manner continue to cause harm to innocent parties. Common factors that we see in truck accidents across our state include:

  • Speeding: Truckers often exceed the posted speed limit in an effort to make deliveries on time. This can result in serious accidents if they lose control of their vehicle.
  • Fatigue: Long hours behind the wheel can lead to truckers becoming fatigued. This can make it difficult for them to stay alert and pay attention to the road, increasing the risk of an accident.
  • Impaired driving: Alcohol and drugs can impair a trucker’s ability to drive safely. This is especially true if they are taking prescription medications that may cause drowsiness.
  • Improperly maintained vehicles: If a truck’s brakes or tires are not properly maintained, it can increase the chances of an accident occurring.

If you’ve suffered injuries due to a truck accident, you may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit. Unlike other types of collisions, truck accidents are often far more complex, especially from a legal standpoint. Truck accidents often do involve multiple parties sharing liability. For this reason, it is important that you have a legal team that is well-versed in handling these legal matters.
