Fannin County, TX (January 18, 2023) – A traffic accident was reported on Monday evening in Fannin County that claimed one person’s life. On January 16, the Texas Department of Public Safety reported to a traffic incident that had taken place on Texas State Highway 78.
At approximately 6:15 p.m., a 2021 Kubota tractor was traveling south on Texas State Highway 78. As the vehicle slowed to make a left turn, it was struck by a 1998 Peterbilt truck that was towing a semi-trailer. The impact of the crash caused the Kubota to overturn, ejecting the driver. The driver, 68-year-old Nicolas Santana, was fatally injured in the crash. He was pronounced dead by responding officers at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the semi-truck, 65-year-old William Isham, was not injured in the crash.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
