Fatal Truck Accidents in Texas

Each year, truck accidents take the lives of hundreds of people in Texas. In many instances, innocent people lose their lives as a result of drivers who engage in negligent and careless actions while operating their vehicles. Some common factors included in fatal truck accidents across our state include:

  • Failing to maintain a single lane of travel: Failing to stay in one lane is a serious problem for any driver, but it can be especially dangerous for trucks. Truck drivers have a responsibility to maintain control of their vehicles at all times, and failing to do so can put other drivers at risk.
  • Speeding: Truck drivers are under pressure to meet deadlines and may feel like they have to speed in order to do so. Unfortunately, the size and weight of trucks can cause significant harm to begin with. When these large vehicles are speeding, it can lead to disastrous consequences.
  • Distractions: Given the fact that truck drivers spend long hours on the road, it is quite easy for them to become distracted. When truck drivers engage in actions that take their attention off the road, it can lead to serious accidents.

Unfortunately, truck accidents are more likely to cause severe and fatal injuries to others sharing the road. If you have lost a loved one as a result of a fatal truck accident, it is crucial that you reach out to a wrongful death lawyer in Midland right away.
