Armstrong County, TX – Update – Amil Suljik Killed in Truck Crash on US-287

Armstrong County, TX (January 4, 2023) – A truck crash was reported in Armstrong County that claimed the life of one man on Sunday afternoon. On January 1, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a traffic accident on US Highway 287.

According to law enforcement, at around 105 p.m., 58-year-old Amil Suljik was driving east on US Highway 287 in a Volvo truck when his vehicle became involved in a collision with the Peterbilt truck tractor-trailer. The incident blocked the roadway near County Road 25.

The Volvo came to rest on top of the trailer after the Peterbilt jackknifed in the middle of the road.

Suljik incurred fatal injuries due to the crash. DPS responded to the crash site and pronounced him deceased from his injuries.

At this time, the Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.
