Fatal Truck Accidents in Texas

In 2021, more than 500 people died due to truck accidents in the state of Texas. Although any type of commercial vehicle wreck has the potential to result in severe injuries, head-on collisions are often far more devastating.

There are many factors that can contribute to a head-on truck accident, but there are three main causes that are most often responsible for these types of accidents.

The first leading cause of fatal head-on truck accidents is driver fatigue. This is when a driver has not had enough rest, and their reactions are slowed down, which can lead to disaster if they are driving in traffic or next to large trucks.

The second leading cause of fatal head-on truck accidents is distracted driving. This can be anything from using a cell phone while behind the wheel, talking on a CB radio, or even eating while driving.

Finally, speeding plays a large role in fatal head-on truck crashes here in Texas. When drivers try to get where they’re going too fast, they not only put themselves at risk but also everyone else on the road. Speeding makes it harder to stop in time or swerve out of the way if someone suddenly appears in front of you.
