Fatal Truck Accidents in Texas

It can be incredibly difficult to accept the sudden and unexpected loss of a loved one. This is especially true if your loved one died as a result of negligence. Losing a loved one in a fatal truck accident can leave a family struggling financially and emotionally. Families are often forced to cover the costs of funeral arrangements. Many families lose a source of income that they have depended upon for years.

Losing a loved one as a result of another driver’s negligence provides you with an opportunity to take legal action against the responsible party. A wrongful death lawyer in Greenville can help you pursue legal action against the driver who caused the death of your loved one. In order to prevail, you must be able to prove that some form of negligence caused the crash. This can include actions like:

  • Driving while impaired.
  • Driving while distracted by a cell phone, CB radio, or another object or person.
  • Failing to yield to others.
  • Switching between lanes in a reckless manner.
  • Running red lights or passing stop signs.

Proving this can be quite challenging. In most cases, your lawyer will use the statements provided by witnesses, the police report, and even work with reconstructionists to prove what took place at the time of the crash. After proving negligence, you will be able to recover compensation for some of the losses and damages you face. This can include compensation for funeral costs, lost earning capacity, burial expenses, and more.
