Truck Accidents in Texas

A traffic accident can change your life forever. Unfortunately, when trucks are involved in these accidents, victims are more likely to suffer significant injuries that require extensive treatment. There are many cases where people are involved in accidents due to negligent drivers. Speeding, distractions, and reckless driving are just some of the most common causes of crashes that we see here in Texas involving commercial vehicles.

Speeding is one of the most common causes of accidents involving trucks. In fact, speeding is a factor in nearly one-third of all fatal truck accidents. When a truck is traveling at high speeds, it takes longer to stop, and there is a greater chance that the driver will lose control of the vehicle. This increases the likelihood of an accident occurring.

Distractions are also a major cause of truck accidents. Truck drivers are often distracted by their cell phones and other electronic devices. This can take their attention away from the road, and make it more difficult to see potential hazards. Distracted driving is dangerous for all motorists, but is especially risky for those operating large vehicles like trucks.

Driving recklessly is another common cause of truck accidents. Reckless driving includes behaviors like tailgating, weaving in and out of traffic, and making unsafe lane changes. These actions put other motorists at risk, and can easily lead to an accident occurring.
