Fatal Truck Accidents in Texas

Truck crashes often have devastating consequences on the lives of those involved. Every year, hundreds of people in Texas die due to these fatal accidents. There are many cases where innocent people lose their lives due to the reckless actions of others.

When innocent people die in fatal truck accidents that are a result of negligence, families are able to pursue wrongful death claims against the responsible parties. When it comes to truck accidents, there are multiple parties who can be held liable. Some common parties identified and fatal truck crashes include:

  • The truck driver: If the truck driver was at fault for the accident, they will likely be held responsible. This may be due to negligence, such as speeding or improper lane changes.
  • The trucking company: If the accident was caused by problems with the truck itself, such as defective brakes or tires, the trucking company may be held liable. The company may also be held responsible if it fails to properly maintain the truck or if it fails to screen and train its drivers.
  • The shipper or loaders: If the accident was caused by an overloaded or unbalanced load, those who loaded the truck may be held responsible.
  • The manufacturer: If the accident was caused by a defect in the truck itself, such as defective brakes or tires, the manufacturer may be held liable.

Pursuing legal action against one or more liable parties can help your family recover compensation for funeral expenses, burial costs, and more.
