Fatal Truck Accidents in Texas

In 2022, a total of 928 fatal truck crashes took place in the state of Texas. These accidents claimed the lives of more than 1228 people, a rate that is near twice the national average. Unfortunately, many of these accidents involve some form of negligence

One of the leading causes of fatal truck accidents is failure to yield. This occurs when a truck driver does not yield to oncoming traffic or pedestrians and instead continues through an intersection or crosswalk. This type of action often results in a collision, which can be fatal for both the truck driver and other motorists or pedestrians involved.

Another leading cause of fatal truck accidents here in Texas is running stop signs. Motorists frequently run stop signs because they are in a hurry to make their delivery or get to their next destination. However, this puts other drivers sharing the road at risk, as they may not expect another vehicle to come barreling through an intersection.

Reckless driving actions, such as speeding or following too closely, are also common among truck drivers and can lead to fatal accidents. These actions put everyone on the road at risk, as they increase the likelihood of a collision occurring.
