Truck Accidents in Oklahoma
Truck crashes take place frequently in the state of Oklahoma. Many of these accidents have significant consequences for those involved. We see countless people hospitalized with severe injuries as a result of truck accidents that take place in our state every day. Unfortunately, many of these accidents are preventable. Acts of negligence and carelessness continue to contribute to the high rate of these crashes in the state of Oklahoma. Some of the common causes of truck crashes that we see include:
Speeding: Truck drivers are often under pressure to meet deadlines, which can lead them to speeding. Speeding increases the risk of losing control of the truck, as well as making it more difficult to stop in an emergency.
Distractions: Texting, talking on the phone, eating, and other distracting behaviors and objects can take a truck driver’s attention away from the road. Distracted driving is one of the leading causes of truck accidents.
Drowsiness: Driving for long hours can be fatiguing, and many truck drivers do not get enough rest. Drowsy driving can lead to slow reaction times and falling asleep at the wheel. Even though many accidents involving drowsy drivers take place during the evening and early morning hours, drowsiness can cause a crash at any time of the day or night.
