Parker County, TX – Melanie Scott Killed in Truck Crash on FM 51 near Old Springtown Rd

Parker County, TX (January 10, 2023) – Authorities across Parker County were dispatched to the site of a traffic crash on Monday morning that ended in injuries. At around 7:30 a.m. on January 9, crews were notified of a crash that occurred on Farm to Market Road 51.

According to law enforcement, a Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling west on Old Springtown Road. As the driver attempted to turn southbound onto Farm to Market Road 51, her vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler.

The driver of the vehicle, Melanie Scott, was fatally injured. She was pronounced dead at the scene. A 10-year-old involved in the accident suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital in Fort Worth.

The incident remains under investigation.
