Truck Crashes in Texas
There are many common causes of rear-end truck accidents. One is following too closely. Trucks have large blind spots, so it’s important to give them plenty of space. Another common cause is speeding. When a truck is going fast, it takes longer to stop, so if you’re tailgating, you’re more likely to cause an accident.
Other common causes of rear-end truck accidents include:
- Distracted driving: Distractions are incredibly common causes of crashes in our state. We see many people hurt as a result of crashes due to drivers who are talking on the phone. Regrettably, there are other driver actions that can also take the attention off the road ahead, such as talking on the phone, changing the radio station, or eating.
- Impaired driving: Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol can slow your reaction time and make it difficult to drive safely.
- Speeding: Drivers who are speeding often have a difficult time stopping in time to avoid a collision with other vehicles on the road. As a result, we see many accidents caused by drivers who fail to stop in time to avoid crashing into the rear of other vehicles.
