Andrews, TX – Soledad Rodriguez Gonzalez Killed in TX-176 Truck Crash

Andrews, TX (November 16, 2022) – Authorities have confirmed that 87-year-old Soledad Rodriguez Gonzalez has lost his life as a result of a hit-and-run truck accident that took place on Wednesday afternoon. On November 9, the Texas Department of Public Safety in Andrews County responded to the scene of a crash on Texas State Highway 176.

According to reports provided by DPS, at around 12:30 p.m., a 2006 Ford Expedition was traveling east on Texas State Highway 176 behind a semi that was pulling a tractor-trailer. As the driver of the Ford attempted to pass the semi-truck just 16 miles east of Andrews, Texas, the driver of the semi-truck tried to change lanes at the same time. The semi-truck then veered into the Ford. The impact of the collision caused the driver of the Ford to lose control of their vehicle and skid off the roadway.

The Ford rolled over multiple times before ejecting a passenger from the vehicle.

The passenger, identified as Rodriguez Gonzalez, was fatally injured in the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding officers.

The driver of the semi-truck fled the scene of the accident without stopping. The Texas Department of Public Safety is actively investigating the incident.

We offer our condolences to the family of Soledad Rodriguez Gonzalez.
