Houston, TX – Woman Arrested Following Fatal West Loop Truck Crash near Westheimer Rd

Houston, TX (December 9, 2022) – A truck crash took place in the Houston area early Thursday morning that claimed the life of one person. At around 1:30 a.m., on December 8, the Texas Department of Public Safety out of Houston was called to the scene of a crash on West Loop.

According to law enforcement, a collision took place on the southbound side of the roadway near Westheimer Road. The incident blocked all of the lanes on the southbound side of the roadway near the Galleria area.

According to law enforcement, a silver Lexus RX300 was stopped in a moving lane on the roadway. Two wreckers with their emergency lights on were parked behind the SUV. As the workers tried to remove the driver of the SUV, identified as Arllette Anahi Reyes, and her vehicle from the road, they were struck by a black Jeep Cherokee.

The Jeep struck a truck, causing the record to strike the other tow truck in front of it.

One person was fatally injured due to the accident and pronounced dead at the scene.

Reyes was taken into police custody and charged with DWI.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
