Santos, TX – Taliah N. Mims & Jon L. Coffey Injured in FedEx Truck Crash with Bus on I-20

Santos, TX (December 9, 2022) – A truck accident took place in Santos on Friday afternoon that left two people injured. On December 9, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a crash on Interstate 20.

According to reports, at 2:56 p.m., 64-year-old Jon Coffey of Durant, Oklahoma, was driving a FedEx truck on Interstate 20 when his vehicle collided with a charter bus from the Gunter ISD, which was carrying 33 people while traveling on the westbound side of the roadway. It is believed that the driver of the FedEx truck suffered a medical emergency while behind the wheel.

Coffee and the driver of the charter bus, 41-year-old to Taliah Mims, suffered injuries in the crash. The two victims were transported to area hospitals for medical care.

The incident remains under investigation.
