Truck Accidents in Texas

Truck crashes are some of the most severe types of vehicle collisions that take place in the state of Texas. Each year, these accidents are responsible for hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries. Unfortunately, tanker trucks involved in accidents are more likely to cause severe damage and injuries.

When it comes to trucks, few are as large or as dangerous as tanker trucks. These massive vehicles are used to transport thousands of gallons of liquids and gases each day, and a single mistake can lead to a catastrophic accident.

One of the most common ways that tanker trucks cause accidents is by jackknifing. This occurs when the truck’s trailer swings out from behind the cab, forming a 90-degree angle. Jackknifing can be caused by several factors, including braking too hard or taking a sharp turn.

Other accidents are caused by spilled cargo. If a tanker truck overturns or its cargo hatches open, the contents can spill onto the roadway and create a hazardous situation. In many cases, these spills are not immediately detected, which can result in other vehicles slipping and crashing.
