Fatal Truck Crashes in Oklahoma

Fatal truck crashes are the cause of thousands of deaths in the United States each year. Unfortunately, we see many of these accidents occur right here in Oklahoma. Unfortunately, when pedestrians are involved in truck crashes, the chances of them suffering severe and fatal injuries are dramatically increased.

The main reason pedestrians are more likely to suffer fatal injuries in semi-truck crashes is that they are simply much smaller than the trucks themselves. Even if a truck driver is taking all the necessary precautions, the difference in size means that there is still a higher risk of serious injury or death for pedestrians involved in these types of collisions.

In addition, many trucks carry large loads that can add to the severity of injuries sustained in a crash. If a pedestrian is hit by a loaded truck, the weight of the load can cause severe crush injuries or even death.

Another factor that increases the danger to pedestrians is the speed at which semi-trucks travel. Due to the fact that semi-trucks are large and heavy, especially when compared to pedestrians, it takes them longer to stop than passenger vehicles. This means that if a pedestrian is hit by a semi-truck, they are more likely to be hit with significant force, which can lead to serious or fatal injuries.
