New Waverly, TX – One Killed, Two Injured in Truck Wreck on I-45

New Waverly, TX (November 16, 2022) – A fatal truck accident took place in New Waverly that claimed one person’s life early Tuesday morning while leaving two others injured. Just before 2 a.m., on November 15, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a traffic accident with the New Waverly Fire Department on Interstate 45.

Preliminary investigations show that a Jeep was traveling on Interstate 45 in the new Waverly area when it collided with the second vehicle. The impact of the crash caused one vehicle to catch on fire. A semi-truck traveling through the area then struck both of the vehicles in the roadway.

Firefighters, police, and medical personnel all responded to the scene of the accident to provide assistance. Firefighters went to work quickly on extinguishing the fire.

The driver of the Jeep suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other victims suffered injuries due to the accident that warranted further medical attention. The two victims were transported to local hospitals.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is actively investigating the crash at this time.
